HelpStopCruelty Please help me end the barbaric cruelty that goes on in China today...

2,000,000 defenceless cats and dogs are skinned alive every year in China. That's 5,479 every day, 228 every hour or nearly 4 every minute all dying in excruciating agony. Why - "Because" say the Chinese fur skinners "it's cheaper and easier to skin a live, warm animal thats convulsing in agony than a dead body. The whole skin comes off easily and in one piece" The skins are then sold for $1 each and are mislabelled as another animal (not cat, rabbit or dog etc) or even labelled as artificial fu… Continue

Sally Lever The BIGGEST downshifting question: What can I let go of?

When I first take on a coaching client, one of the questions I ask them is “What do you want to lose?” This might be material possessions, as in having a major de-cluttering and recycling session. A little less obvious, but often just as important, are the other items that they might have on their list of things that no longer serve them, such as: - a relationship - a belief that they have about themselves - an unhelpful habit - a job they no longer enjoy - a commitment - a concern And… Continue

Karen Once again saddened by mindless destruction

I have just been down to the River Dee here in Chester for my usual daily walk with my dogs, and I am absolutely saddened by this mindless destruction of natural habitat that councils and authorities (in this case I'm told it is the Rivers Authority) who decide its in the best interest not only to keep the public path neatly mowed but the whole of the embankment 30 metre wide. Only 3 days ago I was admiring the delicate wildflowers and enjoying watching the butterflies and other insects sharing… Continue

I’ve been using an off the shelf website building bit of software that I’ve had for years. It has a neat little gadget that lets you embed a dynamic nav bar that updates automatically and it’s been dead useful to use that. But I’ve had problems with it working properly and I can’t use my own images with it…. On one of my sites, Sarah Barnard, the gadget broke and refused to consistently work and I’d been doing some work on a friend’s site where she’s mad… Continue

Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can. -- John Wesley, "Letters of John Wesley"

Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. -- Robert F. Kennedy
