My Pledge for Change: In the Spirit of Harmony with Our Planet
I am on a mission to save the world and find unique and creative ways to help sustain our environment--all the while educating myself and others about ways to help reduce waste, reuse, recycle, and renew!

I believe that each of us is a mustard seed: small in size relation to the universe, but with great potential for growth, beauty, and ability to unite, enhance, and restore our environment!
About Me:
I am a mother of three, wife, photographer, owner and maker of Greetings that Grow™ handmade plantable cards and gifts!

My mission to "go green" began (slowly) and with little steps (like replacing paper napkins with washable cloth ones). My husband and I started weeding out waste, donating, recycling, reusing, reinventing old ways and items to make a newer, more eco friendly lifestyle! We make a conscious effort every day to avoid waste by precycling.

As for my business, Greetings that Grow is my way of changing the world. I first began working with plantable paper in 2008. I loved the idea that a card could be planted, but wanted to create something more unique and memorable.

I came up with the idea of making a plantable card that had a removable photograph print. After extensive research confirming that no one else had made such a card, I began making and selling my greetings that grow in my Amoment Amemory 28 photography shop on Etsy.com.

When I first began making the plantable cards, I used plantable paper that was handmade by etsy paper makers. During these first months, I spent much time researching paper making, with the goal that I would start making my own paper in Jan 2009.

I am very pleased and proud that in January 2009, as planned, I began making my own handmade plantable paper. In that same month, I opened up my (all plantable) Greetings that Grow™ shop on etsy.com AND became a licensed official business in the state of New York!

My goal for 2009 is to educate people about greetings that grow. It is my hope that more people will choose not only to purchase cards (and gifts) that are more sustainable (and give back to the earth!), but that my greetings that grow will motivate and inspire others to think up and create items and businesses that are more eco friendly!

First there was Earth and then there was Man. And Man reaped everything he could from our Earth but failed to "give back". And then there came a time of reckoning. And Man began to "give back"... Everything started to Change..... The World is changing. People are changing. And business has changed... Every business you find in our ethical directory is a giving business....giving back to Our Planet by working in the Spirit of Harmony with Earth. ...Every member on Pledging for Change is here because they believe in Giving Back in the Spirit of Harmony with Our Planet

Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can. -- John Wesley, "Letters of John Wesley"

Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. -- Robert F. Kennedy
