The wisdom of the rainforest has been passed from generation to generation by these knowledge keepers. It's there for the modern world...if we are intelligent enough to value it. I'm glad to see that National Geographic is dedicated to preserving this treasure that lives in the plants and the people!

I believe there is a cure for everything in the rainforests. Not only for physical illness but for illness of the spirit too.

Illness is an imbalance manifesting it's self in a form that captures our attention.
There can be Spiritual, Mental, Physical and Emotional illnesses or imbalances.
Good health is when you have maintained balance with all four aspects of yourself... Spiritual, Mental, Physical and Emotional. When all four of those are in balance, then there are no illnesses present within ourselves. Often times, when one is out of balance, the opposite aspect of ones self is often where the core of the illness lies.
This is also true for Mother Earth. When she is out of balance, the devastation effects the other aspects of her nature. If the rainforest in the South were destroyed, it would effect the winds and the currents in the North. This often triggers a domino effect where the imbalances spread and affect other parts of the world.
Not only are the rainforests important, but the knowledge of their healing properties must be remembered and the conscious effort of maintaining balance taken seriously.

Karmic illnesses falls under the Spiritual Aspect of one's self.
The Spiritual aspect is so much more than just thinking of your own personal spirituality and connection to the divine. It is anything to do with your spirit/soul which includes past lives and karmic retributions of past actions.

I know ,you are right my friend, but this is not how most people would understand it. It is an aspect usually denied in western views. Family, lineage , ancestry...that it is possible that we carry and work through an aspect of our ancestors ... that is why i call it as additional aspect to spread awareness.

It is good that the Shaman ancestral beliefs and wisdom still offer us all a way forward.
And you are so right about that total balance needed ..spiritual,mental,physical and emotional.
This world needs practitioners (like yourself Serra)who are full of the wisdom and respect for a harmony with ourselves and our living planet. I believe as we vibrate positively the forests and plants will hear our call and rise to respond. And that all our modern illnesses will be cured.
Oh lets us all pray for and fight to stop deforestation. As you mention Serra, the imbalance and those ill winds will do such great harm to the Planets balance.

Practitioners alone can not do it all tho, there has to be an awareness and respect generated with in the average person, through out the world, to aide in healing Mother Earth.
It is very difficult to build Mother Earth up, while there are others tearing her down.
