Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh MY...WHERE ARE THE LIONS?

National Geographic explorers in residence, Dereck and Beverly Joubert are calling world-wide attention to the alarming decline in the lion population and the multiple threats to big cats everywhere that are causing them to disappear from the face of the planet. What's the problem? Well, in 50 years the lion population has gone from 450,000 in Africa to less than 25,000 -- and they have no protection under the law. In addition to loss of habitat, they are killed by hunters for trophy sport and poisoned by poachers.

What happens if we don't act NOW? Possible extinction by 2020. That's why the Jouberts are urging people everywhere to band together in support of the Big Cats Initiative. I know what we have got with our "Share Program" and how much could be raised to help the Big Cats...as with any other charity.

But today we stand with a unique sharing and caring opportunity that only some charities will see. And we can only ask the angels or whoever is guiding us to have them open thier eyes and send them our way.; ▶ Reply to This
