Hi Karen,

Have received a few emails from you about the new system of channels and they look like a useful way to automatically update my blog on PFC from the one on my website. Have I got that right? And if yes, how do I set it up?

Hi David

In your back office http://www.pledgingforchange.org/vsg/members you can see your tree of sub-members.

Each member will already have received a welcome email from me in the system but sometimes these emails may inadvertantly go into thier bulk/spam folder unfortunately of they just may not realise what is the best thing to do.

So you can click on the (i) information tab next to each of your sub-members names and welcome them personally to the "Share Program" (with a nice gesture explaining that they can always contact you for help as their upline sponsor if needs be) and you could then invite them over to join P4C network and your group.

If your sub-members are a charity or non-profit organization then the "Share Program" is free their organization and of course we would help them as much as all organizations as much as possible.
However.... investing in the program and becoming an "Advocate for Change" is an individual choice but they don't share revenue without that investment that activates their payment system.(I have known members to invest up to two months later or more)

Maybe that little personal email from you inviting them to join P4C network will make all the difference.
I shall send out an email to suggest this for everybody so they get better connected and aquainted whilst supporting each other on P4C network.

Let me know if you need any more help

Dear Karen, When I sent out invitations, many people joined via my link: http://www.pledgingforchange.org/f4b70a8d However most of them did not join as Advocates for Change. I see these as 'hidden' members because they don't appear anywhere as members of P4C. Do you have a system of guiding such people on getting their expectations on P4C. See here https://pledgingforchange.org/vsg/members/index.php?md=Member_Members_Views_AffReports&reporttype=subaffiliates

I don't think it was just P4C Karen, as all other Ning sites seemed to be running really slowly for me. But then suddenly yesterday it all started to fly along again.

I reckon it as either something with my ISP that has now changed or with the DNS servers that I route through that have changed.

Either way, all Ning sites are behaving properly now, so that's made me happy as I can now get back to being active!

Hi Dan

I think all of a sudden its running much faster again. The problem seemed to be the scripts I had in the right hand column which are all gone now. Let me know what you think...

Can you let me know of any outcome Dan as I will have to get some help on the matter if our site is at fault. I have reduced the amount of scripts running as I know they can take more time to download. I'm going to move the badge back over to the left today as that is a right side script now on every page so its one that area that could save time.

There's definitely been a marked slow down for me using the site, with no noticeable difference on other websites.

Just tested it on my laptop; normal internet connection and the site runs really slowly, on my mobile internet connection, flys along as ever...

Must be something to do with my internet connections or the DNS servers I'm using. Will do some digging.
Karen Maskall Comment by Karen Maskall on October 19, 2009 at 2:23pm
ooh thats not good news Dan.

My comp is very slow on any site unfortunately so I probably don't notice any real difference.
I know at peak times thought that my broadband connections runs really really slowly and often grinds to a halt. I have BT broadband here.

Any ideas of further help and comments would be much appreciated

Is it just me, or has P4C got a lot slower recently? The site used to fly along, but of late I'm having to wait between pages.
