Starthrower Foundation is a volunteer based , registered Canadian charity founded by Sharon Gaskell .
The mission of Starthrower Foundation is to raise and distribute funds to give a hand up, NOT a hand out to destitute Haitian young people living in the north coast city of Cap-Haitien and the nearby mountain village of St. Raphael (Sen Rafayel), Haiti.
To foster academic success, we also use financial donations to help students with housing, food, medical and dental services, when and as needed.
Starthrower Foundation also looks for opportunities to create jobs, which helps the Haitian economy. Jobs also help raise individual self-esteem through the dignity of work.
