Pledging for Change

I did my first relaxation meditation this morning and it was wonderful. I feel so refreshed and focused. I was wondering if anyone knew of good sites online that have (free) meditations. Also, I am interested in sites that help beginners of yoga as I just started that a few months back too. So far, I use a dvd I bought and a morning Namaste Yoga show on FitTv, but would like to find a way to do the namaste yoga in the evening (ie with no toddlers!).

Thanks so much,
Anna

Dear Anna,

Here I share some experiences of mine......I Do Yoga Asanas and Pranayam from childhood. Its always good if you can learn from a professional trainer. My mom also started doing after she became diabetic patient and she is doing from last 15 yrs. And she has got positive results. Meditation also healps you be calm an composed. yoga means the connection of your soul(Atma) with the great soul (paramatma) GOD. You will feel peace and happiness when you are connected with your inner self
In Pranayama (breathing exercise) Kapal Bhati, then Bhamri and Anulombilom are very effective, you should do each for at least 15 min(You can find in you tube or google). Along with Yoga some cardiovascular exercises like running, swimming etc probably on alternate days can give you some wonderfull result
Thanks,
Mamita

Mamita,
Thank you so kindly for the detailed response and information! I will look up the breathing exercises you recommended and try them. I do walking, running, and some swimming in the warmer months already, but definitely should look into swimming indoors at our local university as well.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Anna

Its my pleasure Anna. Actually the main thing is to live in the present peacefully. But also we should have some goals in life. Anger, frustration all this do no good in life, this all are Maya (illusion) . Our life is very short to get into all this traps. main thing is feel happy and be calm. when the boat is floating on the river no problem but if water gets into it then it will get drowned . likewise we should be in this world but the worldly things should not get inside us.
Be happy and be in peace. Feel the silence of your inner self through meditation

Wish you a happy and peaceful life :). Please do share the wonderful experiences of meditaion

Mamita,
I agree! I am turning 30 soon, which has led me to be even more conscious of my life, relationships, etc. I am focusing on ways to fill myself and my life with peace and joy and confidence, and get rid of the "trash" in relationships and negativity and insecurity that I have felt within myself for so many years. I really love reading your responses, as they are very uplifting and encouraging to me. =)

Thank you,
Anna

There is a site here called free meditations and they have so many for different things.
I had a little go at a couple of thier quick tests while I was on the site. I realised when I tried the anger managment test that I get angry at others too easily. One of my best examples being my refusal to tolerate a particluler friends tantrums and mood swings. In many ways this friend is an ok person but I avoid her as much as possible in order to avoid giving her a piece of my mind. Sounds awful doesnt it? But that's exactly what happens. In fact I had once retaliated by saying "You got a big poblem and need to go on an anger management course or something" OOOPs...!!!

Guess I'm in need of some really good meditation for myself then eh?

Allana,
Thank you for the response and link to the site. I looked over the site and really like all the different quotes and types of meditations that they offer there. I am going to try one of them in just a few minutes before the two little ones wake up (and now that the oldest and hubby are off to school and work).

I think sometimes certain people bring out the worst in us--like their flaws ignite our flaws. I am learning lately that it is best to distance yourself from those who tend to (consistently and continuously) bring out the bad in you. While I agree we must learn to limit our anger and control our negative feelings and actions, I also think that sometimes you just need to cut bad relationships loose...

I have always been a very patient person with my kids, but have had a hard time with being patient with business matters. I get something in my head and want to make it reality immediately. As a result, I have placed many unrealistic goals and expectations on myself and my business. I am now learning to live day to day and do things as they come naturally, rather than trying to force them or speed them up. All things that are meant to be, will come about with hard work, patience, and love. I believe the same is true for my business. It is like a seed that needs to be fertilized, tended, weeded, nurtured, and then given sunlight and water to grow. All these things take time and patience. I hope you find peace in your situation with your friend. =)

Dear Anna
There are nice sites for beginners to learn Yoga and Meditation however I would like you to take advice from a Yoga expert who can really tell you with crystal clarity the concept and also the methods and more important what not to do if you encounter difficulty.I know people now a days don't have time to find or learn Yoga from a Master which is essential however if you are keen please find a wonderful website http://www.sivanandaonline.org/ this is most authentic and will teach the same in great detail. Moreover Swami Sivananda is himself a Physician and became world renowned Yoga Guru please follow the link and get established in this ancient indian traditional concept to elevate yourself as well as your friends. With new year wishes from Dr Chowhan
