I'm just finding it a little bit difficult to make the changes to organic meat, with the price ticket being my main consideration. I'm sorry if this offends anybody but the other day I bought some bef from a leading supermarket ( on special offer though I admit,)which was £4.74 per kg normally £9.80 per kg.
I found the same piece of meat onna leading organic food supplier and that was £13.74 per kg.
Now as the meat weighed in just over 2 Kg the total spend was £10....... it would have been £26 with the organic meat.
What is one supposed to do? Is it the supermarkets driving down the prices until the farms are closed down and there is no more meat? Or is the move to organics still so new that the prices are a little hiked?
I know I've got to make that transition though. I feel dreadfully guilty and I will feel guilty when I eat the meat with friends. I suppose the proof is in the pudding also....... it might be really tough yet who knows?
